How PushPress Became a “Gateway to Growth” for an Idaho Gym Owner
TL;DR
Gym owner Amanda Long switched to PushPress years ago for all her gym management needs. Here are three of her favorite tools for operations and growth!

Long before she ever discovered PushPress, Amanda Long found herself frustrated and overwhelmed with the tedious administrative tasks of being a gym owner.

Long is the owner of CrossFit LC Valley in Lewiston, ID. Back in 2016, she was handling a majority of her task list manually. She used a local provider to process payments, but that’s the extent of the system’s capabilities.

“I was using a spreadsheet to track clients,” she said. “It was such a pain.”

And that’s when she decided to hop on a call with PushPress.

“I remember being super overwhelmed,” she said. “I’m not a tech person, but PushPress never made me feel less than when I needed help.”

It’s been eight years, and Long is now an even bigger fan as time has passed.

Three Ways PushPress Helps CrossFit LC Valley.

Immediately after switching to PushPress, Long was able to start managing invoicing and scheduling in PushPress Core. It saved her an abundance of time, but that was just the start. Here are three other tools she utilizes consistently for managing and growing her gym.

1. The Branded App.

In 2019, Long decided to level up by adding the PushPress Branded App for her gym.

The Branded App offers all the features and capabilities of the Members App, but with your gym’s unique branding. It’s a fun and powerful marketing tool to highlight the images, colors and branding elements that set your gym apart. Your members will be able to download it from the Apple App Store and Android Play Store.

In the app, Long’s members can reserve a spot and check in to classes, and log workout scores through. Plus, the Social Feed allows her gym community to connect and have some fun.

“We were growing and things were more streamlined,” she recalls, of adding the Branded App. “It is nice to have one platform where everyone can communicate and it’s strictly gym-related. Members connect and communicate throughout the day. And logging their results in Train has them interacting and challenging each other.”

2. PushPress Grow.

Now that Long has added PushPress Grow, she said she regrets not adding it sooner.

“I waited way too long to switch to Grow,” she said. “Little did I know, it was a gateway to growth.”

PushPress Grow is a gym CRM designed to help you drive revenue and retention. It saves you time and allows you to focus on the important things. Whether that’s lead generation and nurture, improving your members experience or even automating social media, Grow can help.

Long said when she finally added it, Grow became a “game changer for leads, and communication with members.”

In the past, Long used to copy, paste and edit emails for every lead that inquired about her gym. Not only was time-consuming and tedious, she admits that prospective members sometimes slipped through the cracks.

“Now the system does everything for me,” she said. “I hardly have to do anything except answer some random questions and be ready for them to show up to class.”

As a result, CrossFit LC Valley recently had its most successful month ever. Long credits PushPress Grow for being a catalyst, along with helping her manage communication through this growth.

3. The Staff App.

Making her coaches’ lives easier is also important to Long. And the PushPress Staff App - included with PushPress Core - is designed to do just that.

Marissa Paulsen, Product Manager for the PushPress Staff App, said, “For gym owners, time is money, and every minute counts. The Staff App represents a transformative tool to empower both staff and members to handle administrative tasks efficiently. This frees up valuable time for you and your team to focus on what truly matters.”

For example, the Staff App makes it quick and fluid for coaches to check people in for class. Further, the PushPress team recently introduced Product Sales in the Staff App. With it, coaches can simply set the app to kiosk mode on an iPad or any tablet. Then, members can grab products and ring themselves up, allowing coaches to focus on other responsibilities.

Finally, coaches can now communicate with other team members through notes in the app. This ensures members are getting the experience you want for them in your gym.

Ultimately, Long said the Staff App is a “one stop shop” for helping her with every aspect of running her business smoothly.

“My team loves PushPress,” she said. “It helps them be organized and not have to worry about secretarial things. They can be prepared easily to do what they are there for. That is to coach.”
